Step 1: Launch Command Prompt with administrator rights.
Hit Start, type “command” and you’ll see “Command Prompt” listed as the main result. Right-click that result and choose “Run as administrator.”
Step 2: In the elevated prompt, paste or type the following command and press enter key:
reg.exe add “HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\atapi\Controller0” /f /v EnumDevice1 /t REG_DWORD /d 0x00000001
Step 3: Exit the Command Prompt, reboot your PC.
Step 1: In Device Manager, expand category DVD/CD-ROM drives. Right-click on the DVD/CD-ROM device under this category. Click Uninstall, and then reboot your PC.
Step 2: Try deleting the problem registry files.
Note: It is recommended to back up the registry so you can restore them to previous status if problem occurs.
Hit Start, type “regedit” in the run box and click OK button. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
Step 3: If you see UpperFilters in the pane on the right side, right-click UpperFilters, and then click Delete.
If you see LowerFilters in the pane on the right side, right-click LowerFilters, and then click Delete.
If you do not see UpperFilters and LowerFilters, select all files and delete them all.
Step 4: Exit the Registry Editor, reboot your PC
